Sleeping Giants has vast experience in running short and longer-term events, groups and projects, sometimes under our own banner but more often on behalf of other organisations. Much of this work has focussed on young people, equalities, community resilience and volunteering.
We have supported a wide variety of organisations to deliver high quality events and projects. We are highly skilled at supporting organisations to include harder to reach groups within the community.
Our work ranges from providing event support on a single day to supporting organisations to plan and deliver larger community events and projects. Using our bank of trusted associates, depending on the nature of your project and our capacity at the time, we may also be able to become a core member of your project and events team, sometimes over a period of several months.
The best way to find out about the kind of support we can offer you is to get in touch.

Case Study: Amaze Me LEADER
Dumfries and Galloway LEADER Programme commissioned Sleeping Giants to lead on the planning, organisation and delivery of the Amaze Me LEADER (AML) project on their behalf.
AML Scotland brought together 46 young people from Dumfries and Galloway and other parts of Scotland, as well as from Finland, Latvia and Estonia. They travelled the region visiting LEADER funded projects and other initiatives which help sustainability in our rural communities. This engaged them in thinking about issues for young people living in rural areas with the aim of encouraging their participation in decision making where they live. |
The week culminated in a ‘Youth Think Tank’ conference, where the young people engaged with and fed back their reflections to 80 decision makers and leaders from local agencies.
A dozen local young people took part in AML Estonia the following year, which aimed to build on the work of AML Scotland and facilitate knowledge exchange with young people from other EU countries. The resultant lessons, connections, and motivations of young people from the entirety of this project have been (and will continue to be) used to build on, shape and drive the legacy for this project, creating sustainable youth led change for our community. |
