Linda dorwardnon-executive directorBorn and schooled in Dundee, Linda has spent her entire career in the public sector initially as a Psychiatric Nurse, leaving as a Charge Nurse in an Acute Psychiatric setting to work in the Scottish Prison Service, latterly as a Prison Governor. This necessitated traveling and living across various areas in Scotland.
Throughout her career she has strived to make a difference, alleviate the negative effects of poverty and give a voice to those most marginalised in society, working alongside Scottish Government, Local Government and Third Sector colleagues to achieve positive change. She was elected as a Labour Councillor, for Dumfries and Galloway Council, in May 2022, and she continues to focus on these issues by working across the Council to address inclusivity, meritocracy and the amplification of Women’s voices in Dumfries and Galloway. As well as her role with Sleeping Giants, Linda is a member of the cross Councils A75/77 lobbying group and a board member of the Robert Burns Ellisland Farm and Museum Trust, Alcohol and Drugs Support South-West Scotland, Dumfries and Galloway Alcohol and Drugs Partnership, Dumfries and Galloway Community Planning Partnership Board and Dumfries and Galloway Integration Joint Board (IJB). Out with work Linda enjoys hill walking, gardening, reading, travelling and supporting Dundee United Football Club. She is married with 2 rehomed dogs and a rehomed cat. Linda gained an MSt in Applied Criminology, Penology and Management from Cambridge University in 2015. |
lynne mannnon-executive directorLynne is currently working as the Allied Health Professional Lead for Dumfries and Galloway Community Health and Social Care Partnership. She is a Physiotherapist to background.
Lynne has held various clinical and non clinical roles throughout her career including the Service Improvement Lead for Acute and Diagnostics in NHS Dumfries and Galloway and a 3 year secondment to Scottish Government as a Service Improvement Manager. She is passionate about prevention and early intervention with a focus on physical activity. Lynne is also the current chair of the NHS Dumfries and Galloway Women's Network, with a drive to make sustainable change. |
tigger macgregornon-executive directorTigger MacGregor owns and runs the 4Elements Company, offering training in Communication and advanced Massage approaches. She has been living in Galloway for a decade and as well as being involved in a variety of community and voluntary sector organisations here, has had connections with social and third sector work throughout her adult life. With previous experience in both the UK Civil Service and consultancy for both private and public organisations, she is looking forward to supporting the excellent work of Sleeping Giants through her involvement in their board.
